My First Contest Entry

I am in my first contest on the spoonflower website this week and I am anxious to see who the winner is. There are so many really great designs! The contest is palette restrictive, using two specific colors and white; and also must be in a geometric shape. I chose to do a pattern that would lend itself to a blender fabric in a quilt, but now see that I would have probably faired better in the contest if I would have done a main fabric design. It's a learning process and I am just happy to finally be able to get my feet wet in this genre!

Subtle V. Dynamic

Ever have an idea in your head that just doesn't pan out? I was surprised how much this design changed when I used the same colors but changed the position of the colors. I learned in my color class this was called subtle and dynamic design, our assignments often included a color tile of each.
